Breast Surgery in Dubai: Augmentation, Lift & Reduction

Breast surgery divides into three questions that are often confused with each other: volume, position, and the relationship between the two. Adding volume does not lift a breast that has descended, and lifting does not add fullness to the upper pole. Which operation is appropriate — or whether two need to be combined — is decided by examination, not by a photograph.

Procedures

• Breast augmentation. Adds volume using implants. The consultation covers implant type and placement, the incision site, and the fact that implants are not lifetime devices and may need revision or replacement later.
• Breast lift. Repositions the breast and the nipple-areola complex without adding volume. Scar pattern depends on how much correction is required and is agreed before surgery.
• Breast reduction. Reduces volume and repositions at the same time. Frequently performed for physical symptoms — neck and back pain, shoulder grooving, skin irritation — as well as for shape.
• Breast lipofilling. Uses the patient’s own fat for modest volume change and contour correction. Requires sufficient donor fat, and a proportion of transferred fat is reabsorbed.

Before you book

Breast surgery affects breastfeeding, sensation and future imaging in ways that differ by procedure, and these are discussed at the consultation rather than afterwards. Age-appropriate breast screening is confirmed before surgery is planned. Smoking and blood-thinning medication affect healing and are reviewed.

Individual results vary, and revision surgery is a realistic possibility over a lifetime — particularly with implants. A consultation with the operating surgeon costs AED 680 (Consultant Plastic Surgeon: from AED 750) and is required before any procedure is planned; surgical cost is quoted in writing after it.
