Breast lift in Dubai

Surgeons describe sagging using the Regnault classification, which compares the position of the nipple with the inframammary fold — the crease under the breast. The grade is assessed at the consultation, and it is the factor that most affects which technique is appropriate and where the scars will fall.

• Grade 1 (mild). The nipple sits at the level of the fold. A limited lift may be enough, sometimes combined with added volume to restore fullness in the upper part of the breast.
• Grade 2 (moderate). The nipple sits below the fold but still above the lowest point of the breast. A vertical technique is usually appropriate.
• Grade 3 (severe). The nipple sits below the fold and points downwards. An anchor (inverted-T) technique is usually required.
• Pseudoptosis. The nipple stays at or above the fold, but the lower pole has emptied and descended — common after breastfeeding or weight loss. Here the problem is distribution of volume rather than nipple position, and the plan differs accordingly.

Skin quality, the width of the breast base, previous pregnancies and any planned future weight change are assessed alongside the grade. Individual results vary.

Periareolar (donut) lift

A circular incision around the areola. It suits mild ptosis and allows an enlarged areola to be reduced at the same time. It leaves the shortest scar but has the least lifting power, and it is not appropriate when a substantial amount of skin has to come out.

Vertical (lollipop) lift

An incision around the areola plus a vertical line down to the fold. This is the workhorse technique for moderate ptosis: it reshapes the breast tissue itself rather than relying on skin tension, which is why the shape holds better over time.

Anchor (inverted-T, Wise pattern) lift

Around the areola, vertically down, and along the fold. It removes the most skin and gives the most control over shape in severe ptosis or after major weight loss. The trade-off is a longer scar, most of which sits hidden in the fold.

What happens to the nipple

In all three techniques the nipple and areola remain attached to their blood supply and are moved upwards together with the breast tissue — they are not detached and re-grafted. Areola diameter is usually reduced in the same operation. Free nipple grafting is reserved for rare situations and is discussed separately if it applies to you.

A lift repositions what is already there. It does not add volume — in fact, removing skin can make the breast look slightly smaller even though nothing has been taken away. This is the most common misunderstanding patients arrive with, and it is worth settling before anything else.

If the upper part of the breast has emptied and you want that fullness restored, a lift can be combined with an implant in the same operation (augmentation-mastopexy) or with your own fat — see breast lipofilling. Combining a lift with an implant is more demanding than either operation alone, because the surgeon is enlarging the breast and tightening the skin envelope at the same time; published series report a meaningful rate of revision surgery, and some surgeons prefer to stage the two procedures rather than combine them. Which route is safer for you depends on your anatomy, and both options are set out openly at the consultation.

Breast lift surgery is carried out under general anaesthesia. ELEMENTAL is a day surgical centre, so patients are normally discharged the same day and must be accompanied home.

A supportive bra is worn continuously for the first weeks. Most patients take around a week away from desk work; upper-body exercise, running and lifting are restricted for longer, commonly four to six weeks, and your surgeon will give you a schedule specific to your operation. Swelling settles over weeks, while the final shape keeps refining over several months as the tissues relax into position.

Scars. Every breast lift leaves permanent scars — that is the trade-off for removing skin, and it is agreed before surgery, not discovered afterwards. Scars are typically raised and pink for the first months, then flatten and fade, although how far they fade differs between patients and skin types. Darker phototypes have a greater tendency to hypertrophic scarring, which is relevant in Dubai’s mixed population and is discussed at the consultation. Sun exposure and smoking both make scars worse. Scar care is part of the follow-up plan.

Sensation and breastfeeding. Nipple sensation is often altered for a period and usually recovers, though a lasting change is possible. Most techniques preserve the milk ducts and breastfeeding after a lift is frequently possible, but it cannot be promised. Tell your surgeon if you are planning future pregnancies: pregnancy and breastfeeding can change the result.

A breast lift is surgery under general anaesthesia and carries risks you should understand before giving consent. Your surgeon and anaesthesiologist go through these in detail, and they are set out in the consent documentation you sign.

Smoking slows healing. Patients are asked to stop well before the operation and throughout recovery.

Surgery may be postponed or declined where there is uncontrolled hypertension or diabetes, a bleeding disorder or anticoagulant therapy that cannot be safely interrupted, active infection, significant cardiac or respiratory disease, or an unresolved breast finding that needs investigating first. Pregnancy and breastfeeding are contraindications, and surgery is normally deferred until at least six months after breastfeeding ends and body weight is stable.

What surgery does not do. A lift does not stop ageing or gravity: the breast continues to change afterwards, and pregnancy or significant weight change can undo part of the result. It does not add volume, does not treat stretch marks, and it is not a screening test — breast imaging continues on the usual schedule for your age and history. Individual results vary and no specific outcome can be promised.

A breast lift is quoted individually. The figure depends on the technique, on whether an implant or fat transfer is combined in the same session, on the length of the operation, on the type of anaesthesia and on the level of post-operative care required. ELEMENTAL therefore does not publish a single price for the surgery itself — you receive a written quotation after the surgical consultation, before you commit to anything.

Consultation fees start from AED 600. The fee depends on the DHA grade of the doctor you see: General Practitioner AED 600, Specialist AED 680, Consultant AED 750. A breast lift consultation is with a Specialist Plastic Surgeon and is currently AED 680. Prices are current as of 11 August 2026 and may change; the fee applicable to your appointment is confirmed when you book.

The written quotation covers the surgeon’s fee, anaesthesia, use of the operating theatre and the scheduled follow-up visits. Pre-operative laboratory tests, medication and the post-operative support bra are itemised separately, so you can see what each element costs.

Aesthetic breast surgery at ELEMENTAL is on a self-pay basis, and cosmetic procedures are generally excluded from medical insurance cover in the UAE. Where a procedure has a documented medical indication — more often the case with breast reduction than with a lift — the paperwork needed for a claim is discussed at the consultation.
