Proctology in Dubai
Proctology is the branch of surgery that deals with conditions of the anus, rectum and colon — most commonly haemorrhoids, anal fissures and fistulas. At Elemental Day Surgical Center in Jumeirah 1, these conditions are assessed and treated in a licensed day-surgery setting, which means most procedures are completed and the patient goes home the same day, without an overnight hospital stay.
Conditions we treat
Our proctology team assesses and treats haemorrhoids at all stages, acute and chronic anal fissures, anal fistulas, pilonidal disease, anal itching and discomfort, rectal bleeding, and pain during or after bowel movements.
Rectal bleeding always requires a medical assessment. It is often caused by haemorrhoids, but the same symptom can point to other conditions, so a consultation is the first step in every case.
Proctology treatments at Elemental
Elemental offers both minimally invasive and surgical options. Which one is appropriate depends on the diagnosis, the stage of the condition and the patient’s medical history — this is decided at the consultation, not before it.
Proctologist consultation
Examination, diagnosis and a treatment plan. Includes a discussion of the options available for your specific case and what each of them involves.
Treatment of anal fissures
Conservative and surgical management of acute and chronic fissures, aimed at relieving pain and allowing the tear to heal.
Laser hemorrhoidopexy (LHP)
A minimally invasive technique that uses laser energy to shrink haemorrhoidal tissue through a small access point, without an open wound.
Band ligation for haemorrhoids
An outpatient procedure for internal haemorrhoids: a small band is placed at the base of the haemorrhoid to cut off its blood supply.
Hemorrhoidectomy
Surgical removal of haemorrhoids, used for advanced stages or when less invasive methods are not suitable.
Anal fistula treatment
Surgical management of the fistula tract, selected according to its position and complexity.
THD — transanal haemorrhoidal dearterialization
A technique that uses Doppler guidance to locate and close the arteries supplying the haemorrhoids, without removing tissue.
Why a day surgical centre
Elemental is a licensed day surgical centre, not a hospital department. In practice this means three things for a proctology patient.
Same-day discharge. Procedures are planned so that the patient returns home the same day, once the medical team confirms it is safe.
One team from consultation to follow-up. The surgeon who examines you is the surgeon who performs the procedure and sees you afterwards.
Privacy. Proctology is a sensitive area of medicine. Consultations take place in a private setting, and the centre is arranged so that patients do not wait in shared, open areas.
Your first consultation
1. Discussion. The doctor asks about your symptoms, how long they have been present and your medical history.
2. Examination. A physical examination is carried out. If further assessment is needed, the doctor will explain what it involves and why before proceeding.
3. Diagnosis and options. You receive a diagnosis and a description of the treatment options that apply to your case, including what each involves and the expected recovery.
4. Planning. If a procedure is appropriate, it is scheduled. There is no obligation to decide during the consultation.
Recovery after treatment
Recovery depends on the procedure and on the individual patient; the doctor gives specific instructions for your case.
After minimally invasive treatments such as band ligation or laser hemorrhoidopexy, most patients return to desk-based work within a few days. After a hemorrhoidectomy or fistula surgery, recovery is longer and the doctor will set out a timeline at the consultation.
In all cases you receive written aftercare instructions and a follow-up appointment. Contact the clinic if you experience heavy bleeding, fever or pain that is not controlled by the prescribed medication.
Cost of proctology treatment
Your first step is a proctologist consultation at Elemental — AED 750. It includes the examination, diagnosis and a discussion of the treatment options for your case.
The cost of a procedure depends on the diagnosis and the technique used. After the consultation you receive a written estimate with a fixed price — before anything is scheduled, so there are no surprises on the day of treatment.
Prices updated: August 2026.
