Invisalign in Dubai
Invisalign is a system of custom clear aligners — a numbered series of thin removable trays, each one shaped slightly differently from the last, that move teeth a fraction of a millimetre at a time. You wear them almost all day, change to the next set roughly every week or ten days, and take them out to eat and to brush.
We treat with Invisalign at ELEMENTAL Day Surgical Center in Jumeirah 1, Dubai, under DHA licence 5323888. The reason people choose it over fixed braces is rarely a clinical one: it is that the trays are hard to notice in meetings and on camera, nothing is glued to the front of the teeth for a year, and there is no list of foods to avoid. What decides whether it is the right choice for your mouth is not preference but the movements your case actually requires — and that is a conversation with a scan on the screen, not a brochure.
How treatment actually works
Treatment starts with records rather than with aligners. Photographs, a clinical examination, and imaging taken here on our Planmeca Viso G5 — a panoramic image and, where the roots, the airway or an impacted canine need to be seen in three dimensions, a cone beam scan. Then a digital intraoral scan of both arches on our Dentsply Sirona Primescan AC, which replaces the impression trays entirely.
From those records a treatment plan is built and simulated: the sequence of movements, tooth by tooth, from where your teeth are now to where they will finish. You see that simulation before you agree to anything, which is the part patients find genuinely useful — it turns an abstract promise into a specific, visible proposal you can question.
Once approved, the aligner series is manufactured to that plan. Small tooth-coloured attachments are bonded to certain teeth so the trays have something to grip; without them, rotations and root movements are not achievable. Reviews happen every six to ten weeks.
What aligners do well, and what they do not
Aligners are well suited to crowding, spacing and gaps, teeth that have drifted after years without a retainer, and mild to moderate bite correction. They are also the practical option for adults who cannot spend a year with fixed appliances for professional reasons.
Where fixed braces keep the advantage: large rotations of round teeth such as premolars, closing substantial extraction spaces, bodily root movement, and cases where compliance is uncertain — a brace works whether or not the patient feels like it that week, an aligner sitting in its box does nothing.
And there is a third category worth naming honestly: skeletal discrepancies where the problem is the position of the jaws rather than the teeth. No aligner system moves bone. Those cases need combined orthodontic and surgical planning, and telling a patient otherwise wastes a year of their life. If your case falls there, you will be told at the consultation, not after the scan has been paid for.
Your treatment step by step
Consultation. Examination, photographs, discussion of what bothers you about your teeth — which is not always what a dentist would list first, and matters for the plan.
Records. A panoramic image and, where indicated, a cone beam scan; then the digital scan of both arches on the Primescan AC. One appointment, one chair, because all of it is in the building.
Plan and simulation. The proposed movements are modelled and shown to you. Aligner count, expected duration and the quote follow from this, and nothing is committed before you have seen it.
Treatment. Attachments bonded, first aligners fitted, then a new set every seven to ten days at home with reviews every six to ten weeks. Interproximal reduction — polishing fractions of a millimetre between contacts to create space — is used in some cases and is discussed in advance, never as a surprise.
Refinement and retention. Where a few teeth have not tracked exactly, a short additional series finishes the detail. Then retainers.
What it costs
The honest answer to «how much is Invisalign in Dubai» is that it depends on how many aligners your teeth need, and nobody knows that number before the scan. A short case closing a small gap and a full-arch case correcting the bite are different amounts of work, different durations and different numbers of appointments.
What you can rely on is the sequence. Consultation and records first, then the plan and the simulation, then a written quote covering the aligner series, attachments, all review appointments, refinements where they are needed, and the retainers at the end — so that the figure you see is the figure for finishing the treatment, not a starting price that grows. Full Invisalign treatment at ELEMENTAL costs from AED 27,000 (AED 27,000–30,000 depending on the case); what the quote covers is listed in writing before you start. A dental consultation is AED 650. Prices updated: September 2026.
The clinic works on a self-pay basis and does not currently hold direct contracts with insurers. We issue an itemised invoice and a clinical report so you can claim reimbursement yourself; whether an orthodontic case is covered is the insurer's decision and depends on your policy.
Retainers, and why they are not optional
Teeth are held in position by fibres that remember where they used to be, and they drift back given the chance. Retention is not an afterthought to orthodontic treatment, it is the second half of it.
At the end of the aligner series you are given retainers — worn full time for an initial period and then nightly, indefinitely. Patients who stop find themselves, three or four years later, looking at the crowding they paid to correct. That is the single most common reason adults come to us for a second course of treatment, and it is entirely preventable.
We check the fit of retainers at routine dental check-ups, and replace them when they wear or crack. If you are considering veneers or whitening as well, the order matters: align first, then whiten, then restore — doing it the other way round means paying twice for the same restorations.
At ELEMENTAL this treatment is carried out by Dr. Artem Shyshko, General Dentist.
Invisalign in Jumeirah 1, and how the options compare
Why the location of your orthodontist matters more than people expect
Aligner treatment is not a single appointment. It is a course that runs six to eighteen months, with reviews roughly every six to ten weeks, plus the scan at the start, the fitting of attachments, any refinement stage, and the retainers at the end. That is a relationship with a clinic over a year, not a visit.
ELEMENTAL is on Jumeirah St. in Jumeirah 1, which puts it within a short drive of Jumeirah, Umm Suqeim, Al Wasl, Downtown, Bur Dubai and the Palm. Patients who choose a clinic across the city usually start well and attend less reliably by month four — and aligners only work when they are worn and reviewed on schedule. Choosing by convenience is a legitimate clinical consideration here, not a compromise.
The scan, the treatment planning, the reviews and the retainers all happen at the same address, and the retainers are produced in the clinic’s own digital dental laboratory rather than sent away.
Invisalign, other clear aligner systems, and fixed braces
Three routes exist and they suit different problems, so the honest comparison is worth having before you choose.
Clear aligners, including Invisalign. Removable, close to invisible, and comfortable to live with. They handle crowding, spacing, drifted teeth and mild to moderate bite correction well. They depend entirely on the patient: twenty to twenty-two hours a day, every day. A patient who will not wear them will not get a result, and that is said plainly at the consultation rather than after.
Fixed braces. Bonded to the teeth, so compliance is not a variable. They remain the stronger tool for severe crowding, significant bite correction, rotated or impacted teeth and complex movements. They are visible — ceramic brackets less so — and they need more care with cleaning. See dental braces.
Which is right is decided by what your teeth need to do, not by preference. A case that aligners cannot finish will be told so; starting an aligner course that cannot reach the goal wastes a year and the money with it.
What Invisalign costs in Dubai, and what moves the number
Nobody can price aligner treatment before the scan, because the price follows the number of aligners and the number of aligners follows how far the teeth have to travel. What changes it: how many arches are treated, upper only or both; the complexity of the movement; the length of the course; whether attachments and interproximal reduction are needed; whether a refinement stage is likely; and the retainers at the end.
What you can rely on is the sequence: consultation and records first, then the plan and the simulation, then a written quotation covering the full aligner series, attachments, every review appointment, refinements where they are needed, and the retainers — so that nothing is added later. A price quoted over the phone before a scan is a price for somebody else’s teeth.
When comparing quotations, check three things: whether refinements are included or billed separately, whether retainers are included, and how many review appointments are covered. Those three are where identical-looking prices stop being identical.
Can I switch between braces and aligners?
Yes, in both directions, and it is more common than people think. Some cases start with a short phase of fixed braces to achieve a movement aligners handle poorly, then finish with aligners. Others begin with aligners and switch if the teeth are not tracking the plan. A treatment plan that can be adjusted mid-course is a sign the case is being watched, not a sign it went wrong.
Aligner systems and brand names
Invisalign is the trade name of one aligner system, and because it was first to market its name is often used as though it meant the treatment itself. Several aligner systems are licensed and in clinical use. They differ in the material and thickness of the tray, in attachment design, in the planning software and in how each handles difficult movements, and they are not interchangeable partway through a course.
Which system suits a case depends on what the teeth have to do rather than on the name. That choice is made at the consultation and explained, along with what the quoted fee covers in that system — the number of trays, whether refinements are included and what happens if the case needs more. We treat with Invisalign at ELEMENTAL — see the dedicated page on Invisalign in Dubai for how that system works in practice.
