Clear Aligners in Dubai

Aligners handle crowding, spacing, mild to moderate bite discrepancies, relapse after previous orthodontic treatment, and alignment before restorative work predictably and comfortably. For an adult who wants the front teeth straightened and cannot accept visible appliances, they are usually the right tool.

The honest limits are worth stating before treatment rather than after. Large rotations of round teeth, significant vertical movement, closing extraction spaces bodily, correcting a marked skeletal discrepancy and managing severely tipped molars are all more predictable with fixed appliances. Some cases are treated with aligners plus a short period of fixed appliances on selected teeth.

And one limitation is not clinical at all: an aligner works only while it is in the mouth. Twenty to twenty-two hours a day is the treatment, not a recommendation. A patient who cannot commit to that will get a better result from fixed braces, which work whether or not the patient remembers them.

Treatment begins with records: clinical photographs, an intraoral scan of both arches and the bite taken on a Dentsply Sirona Primescan AC, a panoramic radiograph and, where the case requires a three-dimensional answer — an impacted tooth, root proximity, the amount of bone covering the lower incisors — a cone beam scan on the clinic's Planmeca Viso G5. From the scan the orthodontist builds a digital setup: a simulation of every intermediate position between where your teeth are now and where they will finish. This is where the plan is actually made — which teeth move first, where attachments go, where enamel is reduced and by how much, how many trays the sequence needs.

You are shown the setup before manufacturing begins. It is worth understanding what it is and what it is not: a plan of intended movement, not a promise. Teeth respond individually, and the setup is compared against the mouth at every review.

Active decay and gum inflammation are treated first. Moving teeth whose support is inflamed accelerates bone loss, so gum treatment comes before any appliance.

Trays are changed on a schedule set by the orthodontist, commonly every seven to fourteen days. Reviews are less frequent than with fixed appliances, often every six to ten weeks, but they are not optional: they are where the mouth is compared against the setup and a case that has stopped tracking is caught early.

Practical points that decide how the course goes. Take the trays out to eat and to drink anything other than water — hot drinks distort the plastic and coloured drinks stain it. Brush before putting them back in, because a tray seals plaque and sugar against the enamel for hours. Clean the trays with a brush and cool water, not toothpaste, which scratches them. Change to a new tray in the evening so the first uncomfortable hours pass in sleep. Keep the previous tray until the new one seats fully.

Most courses end with a refinement stage: a second short series of trays made from a fresh scan once the teeth have moved and the plan is updated against reality. This is a normal part of aligner treatment rather than a sign something went wrong.

Teeth do not stay where they are put. The fibres around each root and the bone need months to reorganise, and teeth continue to drift slowly throughout life whether or not they were ever treated. Retention is what preserves the result, and it is permanent in the sense that it never entirely stops.

Retention is a thin wire bonded behind the front teeth, a removable retainer worn at night, or both. Aligner patients adapt to a night-time retainer easily because it feels like the trays they have just spent a year wearing. Bonded wires are checked at routine visits because they can debond quietly, and removable retainers are replaced when they wear or distort.

Ask what retention costs and whether it is inside the quoted fee before treatment starts. It is the most commonly excluded line in an aligner quotation.

An orthodontic consultation starts from AED 650. Diagnostic records and the aligner course itself are quoted separately in writing once the records have been read and the digital setup is made.

The figure is driven by how much movement is required, which system is used, how many trays the sequence needs and whether refinements and retainers are included. That last point is where quotations most often differ from one another rather than in the underlying work, so the written estimate here lists the stages separately: records and setup, the aligner course, refinements, removal of attachments and polishing, and retention.

We do not quote aligners over the phone. A case that looks like six months of front-tooth alignment from across a room can turn out to need bite correction, and a figure given before the scan is not a figure anyone should plan around.
